Dr. Amal Al Ghaferi is an Associate Professor of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Khalifa University. She got her Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA, USA in 2007. She has managed more than five funded research projects (internal and external) for Masdar Institute (value of $4 million). She established and led the Nanotechnology Research along with the Electron Microscopy facility in Abu Dhabi. Dr. Al Ghaferi has more than 30 journal publications in international high impact journal along with than 25 conference participations in the field of nanotechnology. Dr. Al Ghaferi play a key role in raising the percentage of UAE nationals in the institute and has taken the leadership role to promote women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
